McAfee, the device-to-cloud cybersecurity company announced new innovations to its cloud-native MVISION platform with the availability of\u00a0Unified Cloud Edge (UCE)<\/a>, which provides unified data and threat protection from device level to the cloud<\/a>. McAfee provides a converged security solution to simplify the adoption of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture, which aims to increase security and reduce the cost and complexity of modern cybersecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companies are accelerating business optimization through faster adoption\nof transformative cloud services, including better protection over data and assets.\nAccording to McAfee\u2019s \u201cNavigating\na Cloudy Sky: Practical Guidance and the State of Cloud Security\u201d<\/a> report,\nmore than 95 percent of companies today use cloud services and 83 percent store\nsensitive data in the cloud. Yet only 30 percent of companies state they can\nprotect data with the same policies across their devices, network and in the\ncloud. Only 36 percent report they can enforce data loss prevention (DLP) rules\nin the cloud at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gartner\u2019s \u201cThe\nFuture of Network Security Is in the Cloud\u201d<\/a> report, \u201cBy 2024,\nat least 40 percent of enterprises will have explicit strategies to adopt SASE,\nup from less than 1 percent in 2018.\u201d Additionally, the report includes, \u201cThe\nadoption of SASE should offer key benefits: improved security, reduction in\ncomplexity and costs, ease of use and transparency for users, enable new\nbusiness scenarios, improvement in performance and latency, enable zero trust\nnetwork access, increased effectiveness of network and network security staff,\ncentralized policy with local enforcement and low operational overhead.\u201d At the\nsame time, Gartner cautions, \u201cFor enterprises that attempt to build their own\nSASE stack out of disparate vendors and cloud offerings, as stitching this\ntogether will lead to inconsistent management and enforcement, poor performance,\nand expensive deployments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McAfee UCE was designed with a cloud-first mindset to simplify the\nimplementation of SASE. It creates a safe environment for the adoption of cloud\nservices and enables secure access to the cloud from any device for ultimate\nproductivity across the workforce. By enforcing consistent policies across\ndevice, web and cloud, UCE protects data as it leaves the device, travels to\nand from the cloud, and within cloud services to create a new secure cloud edge\nfor the enterprise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCE enables\norganizations to mount a powerful data-centric defense where modern work is\ndone \u2013 from any device, to any cloud service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Available March 2020, UCE brings together the capabilities of McAfee\nCloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), and DLP in one\ncloud-native platform. Key benefits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
