Epicor Software Corporation announced that Epoch Cosmetics & Toiletries LLC<\/a> has selected enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP, to improve manufacturing and warehousing operations and streamline information flow across the company. Epicor partner, Cork Information Technology<\/a>, will work with Epoch Cosmetics & Toiletries\u2019 stakeholders to bring the full power of the Epicor<\/a> platform to the company and its employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubai-based Epoch\nCosmetics & Toiletries produces aerosols, deodorants, air fresheners and\ncosmetics for markets all around the world\u2014including its native United Arab\nEmirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India, West Africa, Egypt, Oman, the\nUK, France, and the US. The company supplies major brands\u2014such as Elegant,\nInspire, Pleasure, Hot & Cold, Mehas and The Scent\u2014to distributors, and\nalso offers contract manufacturing to other brands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having grown from a\nhandful of employees to a monthly production capacity of more than two million\nproducts in just 10 years, Epoch Cosmetics & Toiletries realised they would\nneed to replace their existing ERP solution to continue to expand and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we grew, our\nlegacy system was not catering to our needs, especially in manufacturing,\nwarehousing and sales,\u201d said Abbas Hamid, director at Epoch Cosmetics &\nToiletries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn addition, the\nmanufacturing module within the legacy system only captured the cost of\nmaterials, so labour costs and direct costs were never captured. These had to\nbe generated through manual calculations and estimations, which affected our\nfinancials,\u201d added Hamid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reporting was also\ncumbersome, with pending PO reports and shipment tracking requiring manual\npreparation, and the system offered no capability for real-time reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epoch Cosmetics\n& Toiletries decided it needed an ERP system that was tailored to their\nbusiness operations, was easy to deploy and use, and would be flexible enough\nto allow the company to grow unimpeded. After considering four major ERP\nvendors, Hamid and his team selected Epicor ERP due to the\nmanufacturing-centric focus and native functionality of the solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile we obviously\nneeded some level of customisation, we were very clear that we wanted to adapt\nto a system and be in line with best industry practices, rather than the other\nway around\u2014where the system has to adapt to us,\u201d added Hamid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epoch Cosmetics\n& Toiletries\u2019 stakeholders were particularly drawn to the real-time\nreporting functionality of Epicor ERP, as well as its multi-region\ncapabilities, so that future expansion plans would not be hampered and that\nconsolidated reports could be easily compiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Implementation is\nexpected to be completed by May 2020, and the company\u2019s project team is\ncurrently working with regional Epicor partner, Cork Information Technology, to\ndeploy the new solution to more than 40 users in the UAE. Supply chain, sales,\nCRM, manufacturing, finance and asset management will all be key areas of\nfunctionality that are expected to help enhance Epoch Cosmetics &\nToiletries\u2019 operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epoch Cosmetics\n& Toiletries\u2019 management team is hopeful that, with Epicor ERP in place,\nits operations will be streamlined, allowing it to expand as needed and\nimplement international best standards in manufacturing. Also, given the\nability for Epicor ERP to integrate with multiple third-party solutions, the\ncompany plans to work with Epicor to integrate modules for business analytics\nand intelligent manufacturing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
