Commvault<\/a> announced continued growth across the Middle East, South Africa (SA) and Turkey (MESAT) region. The company saw extensive business expansion last year, at global and regional levels, and has achieved further success through increasing numbers of customer projects and partner initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wael Mustafa, area vice-president for MESAT at Commvault commented: \u201cDespite the challenges of COVID-19, Commvault has witnessed continued customer engagement in 2020. We have seen an increased appetite for investment in intelligent data management systems as organizations realize the importance of protecting and managing data during this current climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mustafa highlights one of the key factors for success in Commvault\u2019s acquisition of Hedvig in 2019.  \u201cBy integrating software-defined storage capabilities with data management products, we have been able to create a new industry standard solution for both passive and active data management in the cloud \u2013 which has been very well received by organisations across all MESAT markets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a result of our success, during 2020, we have hired additional staff to cover UAE and KSA and will also be hiring for new roles in the region following continued business growth in key markets including South Africa. We have built a strong business pipeline in markets such as Egypt and Turkey during this year and we look forward to more success, as the region begins to recover from the economic pressures brought by the pandemic,\u201d added Mustafa<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commvault already has an extensive customer community across all of these markets, including Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality in UAE, as well as leading players in regional Telco, Finance, Government and Educations sectors including Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and Jeddah University in KSA, Garanti Bank and DenizBank in Turkey as well as Blue Label Telecoms in South Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe work to build strategic and cost effective solutions that are enabling some of the largest Enterprises in the region realise significant benefits,\u201d said Mustafa.  \u201cFor example, not only did we provide Emirates Steel our HyperScale solution to enable their ambitious digitalization strategy, but also were able to provide risk reduction, in terms of long term compliance and disaster recovery.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Commvault continues to make significant additional investments in its partner eco-system across the region, to deliver services to end users.  One of the most notable developments has been the expansion of its partnership with HPE in the MESAT region. Commvault was named as 2019 Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Partner of the Year \u2014 Storage Solutions at HPE’s annual Global Partner Summit last year.
