Barracuda Networks, Inc., a provider of cloud-first security solutions, has expanded its cloud-native SASE platform. The SASE platform from Barracuda simplifies Secure SD-WAN, Firewall-as-a-Service, Zero Trust Network Access, and Secure Web Gateway functionality, as well as secure connectivity to industrial IoT devices<\/a>. New capabilities for hybrid deployment models and IIoT<\/a> environments are included in the expansion. New technology integrations also provide secure data transfer, orchestration, asset management, and anomaly detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“By 2024, 80% of SD-WAN deployments will incorporate security service edge (SSE) requirements, up from less than 25 percent in 2022,” according to Gartner\u00ae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CloudGen WAN, Barracuda’s Secure SD-WAN service and firewall-as-a-service, now provides private service edge for hybrid deployments as part of the Barracuda SASE platform. Private service edge is ideal for organizations that must adhere to specific geopolitical requirements or require complete control over the data plane. Private service edge devices offer the same level of security and networking functionality as cloud services and are managed and administered through a centralized management platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secure Connector virtual appliances and new ruggedized site devices are now available from Barracuda CloudGen WAN. These updates offer highly scalable internet-of-things connectivity as well as cloud and private service edge-based security for IIoT<\/a> endpoints. For a variety of third-party IIoT solutions, the Secure Connector endpoint virtual agent can be deployed in Docker environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
