Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly presided over a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Konecta Egypt, a subsidiary of Spain\u2019s global leader in digital services and customer experience AI, Konecta. The ceremony, attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta, marks a pivotal move to strengthen Egypt’s position in the global digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, and Mr. Ahmed El-Harany, CEO of Konecta for the Middle East and Africa, highlighting the launch of Konecta’s operations in Egypt. The company will establish its regional headquarters in New Cairo, which will serve markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Konecta plans to invest approximately $100 million over the next three years, with a focus on hiring nearly 3,000 specialists in digital and technical services. The new operations will cover AI solutions, digital transformation, cybersecurity, big data & analytics, IoT, technical support, and multilingual customer services in languages such as English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Furthermore, Konecta will establish its first Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Gen-AI in Egypt, enhancing global delivery operations and providing access to the company\u2019s vast knowledge base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The collaboration also includes joint training and upskilling programs, developed in partnership with ITIDA, aimed at boosting the skills and global competitiveness of Egyptian talent.
