Expo 2020 unveils two new structures before opening ceremony

The Dubai Expo, which will welcome visitors from across the globe, is less than a month away has unveiled two new structures as part of the Expo. Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, viewed the Expo 2020 “Water Feature” and the “Garden-in-the Sky observation tower”.

Expo 2020 Water Feature will include a musical score composed by an award-winning composer. Meanwhile, the 52-metre-high Garden in the Sky observation tower spanning Expo 2020 Dubai will offer 360-degree views of the landmark event.

The vast majority will be hosting their own pavilion for the first time in the 170-year history of World Expos. ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, the theme and purpose of Expo 2020 Dubai, will inspire its visitors and participants to reach brand-new perspectives, challenge their thinking, forge new partnerships and ultimately help build a better future for all.

Participants will be guided by Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability sub-themes as the main drivers of progress and pillars through which they will work towards a common objective of protecting what we cherish both for our children and grandchildren, says Sheikh Mohammed. It is the collective efforts of Expo 2020 employees, as well as the support of all local and Federal Government entities, which have made this mega-event successful and worthy of the UAE’s reputation and status. “The world will soon meet in Dubai to discover new paths for progress and prosperity and shape a future that will enable communities to thrive and overcome various challenges,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said during his visit to the new structures.

As part of the six-month celebration of creativity, innovation, humanity, and world cultures, millions of visitors are expected from around the world during the event which runs from 1 October 2021 until 31 March 2022.
