Expo 2020’s Beneath the Blue visitor journey plunges into mesmerizing marine life also demonstrates new techniques that put innovation at the core of marine conservation, with the future of our oceans at the forefront of concern about the environmental degradation our world is currently suffering.

The trip is part of a series of themed, self-guided tours designed by Expo 2020 Dubai and available on www.expo2020dubai.com and the Expo 2020 app to help visitors explore the event’s broad array of attractions over the course of six months.

Beneath the Blue covers environmental concerns such as plastic pollution and biodiversity, asking how we can work together to better manage climate change, with the main goal of catalysing change, as rising temperatures and growing populations put greater pressure on the world’s oceans.

The following are some of the stops along the way:

Philippines Pavilion: The Philippines Pavilion, which is designed to seem like a coral reef, illustrates how this country of over 7,000 islands is trying to conserve our waters.

Seychelles Pavilion: The pavilion delivers a multi-sensory experience that speaks to the county’s present and future as a leader in the blue economy agenda, showcasing how this island nation is taking action to preserve marine habitats. Visitors can learn about endangered animals such as the Southern blue whale and the sperm whale that visit the island’s seas.

The Monaco Pavilion: With areas of its pavilion dedicated to 3D printed tropical corals and robotic penguins, interactive games, and a baby penguin zone aimed at younger visitors, the Monaco Pavilion illustrates how the principality is using cutting-edge research to safeguard endangered marine species throughout the world.
