Google introduces new search feature in Gmail for Android users

Google has introduced a new search filter tool for Android users in Gmail that will make it easier to find emails in the future.

Google announced the search filter options in Gmail for Android via an official post on its Workspace forum. The company first included the new feature in the web version of Gmail last year, and it is now available in the Android app as well.

Users will be able to identify relevant emails faster thanks to the new features with easy-to-use filters. The search filters are located directly beneath the search box in Gmail on Android devices, and they contain options like ‘From,’ ‘Sent to,’ ‘Date,’ and ‘Attachment.’ As a result, users can tap any of the options before or after checking for emails in their inbox, just as they can on their desktop.

The newly implemented search filters will allow users to find the email they need in the Gmail app quickly.  Users can utilize the search criteria before entering anything in the search bar to access relevant emails rapidly, or after performing a search to narrow down the results, according to Mashable.

The reports also stated that Google has started testing the filter feature on Gmail for Android earlier this week. The company, on the other hand, is following an extended implementation schedule.

Users who cannot see the function activated in the Gmail app on their Android smartphone despite updating it from the Play Store will be able to do so by the end of October, according to Google.
