Like WhatsApp and Instagram, Google is also now inculcating emojis into its messages app. Users can now respond with any emojis. The extended emoji reactions seem to be a restricted test right now, according to a 9to5Google story.
Users may now reply to incoming messages on the Google Messages app by tapping and holding the screen. The possibility to add a new emoji that isn’t already listed is indicated by a new icon in the emoji picker.
According to sources, users could only long-press seven emojis in an RCS (Rich Communications Services) discussion at one time. Thumbs up/down, joyful face with heart eyes, face with tears of joy, mouth open, crying face, and furious face are the seven emojis.
When users tap on the emoji in the corner of the message that was responded to, a larger version of it will appear next to the name of the person who responded. When viewing responses from a group chat, a pop-up prompt will show all the names and emojis that were used in the responses. Only the most recent Google Messages Beta edition is capable of using the functionality right now.
Google began testing a newly created gallery-focused photo picker in its Messages platform earlier this month. By swiping left, users could view about 22 photographs, and there is a shortcut to rapidly access the camera.
