Hayel Saeed Anam and Company Yemen (HSA) has established a collaboration with the global technology giant SAP. SAP will enable HSA to leverage the potential of data flows to support insight-driven decision-making across its operational firms in its first significant project in Yemen since the beginning of the crisis.
Yemen has faced significant problems in recent years, exacerbated by a complex combination of natural disasters, hunger, and civil war, as well as the global pandemic. Supply chain disruptions, poor IT infrastructure, and a lack of digital literacy have all hampered the country’s digitalization. Throughout the ongoing humanitarian crisis, however, the leadership of Hayel Saeed Anam and Company has remained committed to investing in the company’s resilience in order to overcome these operational challenges and continue providing for the millions of Yemenis who rely on the company for essential goods such as food and medicines.
Hayel Saeed Anam and Company has designed a digital transformation roadmap to boost efficiencies and risk preparedness across the organisation in order to strengthen its resilience. The long-term strategic relationship with SAP seeks to help the company’s 50+ operating firms in the FMCG, industrial, trading, and services sectors grow more quickly. SAP business systems will give access to the information needed for real-time data-driven decision making, which is crucial for ensuring company continuity in such a complex environment. It will be made possible through increasing automation and better business process execution in accordance with global business standards and upskilling its workforce across its businesses.
As part of this collaboration, Hayel Saeed Anam and Company has teamed up with SAP’s Young Professionals Program (YPP) to help Yemen’s future workforce. This groundbreaking SAP Training and Development Institute initiative, which will be run in Yemen for the first time ever in partnership with HSA, will provide unemployed or underemployed recent university graduates with three months of digital skills training to become certified SAP Associate Consultants. YPP will help to upskill young Yemeni talent, unlocking the nation’s digital potential, in keeping with HSA’s long-standing commitment to the communities it serves.

As part of the initial pilot phase, eight companies from a variety of commercial and industrial sectors have migrated to SAP software, with a full conversion anticipated for HSA’s remaining companies over the next two years.
SAP S/4HANA real-time business suite for bigger enterprises; SAP Business ByDesign, a cloud-based ERP solution for smaller businesses; and SAP Direct Store Delivery for real-time insights on customers, orders, and deliveries are all part of HSA’s complete programme. The company also integrated the SAP SuccessFactors human experience management package to optimise employee experience as Yemen’s largest private employer.
During the coronavirus epidemic, HSA implemented the SAP Environment, Health, and Safety Management system across its operations to safeguard the safety of its staff and customers. The installation of these SAP business platform solutions allows HSA to gain a comprehensive perspective of all of its business activities, allowing the organization to achieve excellence across all of its business areas with more accuracy and control.
