Huawei will demonstrate the next generation of cybersecurity solutions, standards, and strategies at Intersec 2022 to help Middle Eastern enterprises be safe from the ground up. Huawei is stressing how it enables clients to fulfill their digital transformation goals securely and resiliently under the topic of ‘Safeguarding the Digital Future’ at the region’s premier emergency services, security, and safety conference.
Aloysius Cheang, Chief Security Officer at Huawei UAE, said: “The boundaries that existed between the physical and cyber world are rapidly disappearing. Therefore, all connected devices should be built on a robust cybersecurity foundation. We look forward to fruitful discussions with our peers on creating a secure, trustworthy, and intelligent ecosystem to safeguard connected societies.”
The 22nd edition of Intersecis will be held in the Dubai World Trade Centre from January 16 to 18, with 120 countries, governments, and industry executives attending to discuss the newest security breakthroughs.
Huawei regional and global specialists will participate in several panel discussions as well as deliver keynotes on hot security topics during the event. Gong Xiaoxin, Senior Cyber Security Expert at Huawei’s Global Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Office, will participate in a panel discussion on the transition from cybersecurity to cyber-resilience, as well as the importance of deploying ecosystem-wide resilience plans, on the first day of the event.
In addition, Aloysius Cheang, Huawei UAE’s Chief Security Officer, will speak about policing the “Metaverse” and facing the challenges of protecting a world where the virtual and physical realms are still blurring. On the second day, Nadim Abdulrahim, Huawei Middle East’s Government Industry Expert, will give a keynote lecture about how cybersecurity can serve as the basis for tomorrow’s smart cities, including new technologies that can help develop safe, secure, and resilient cities.
Huawei has joined with Intersec’s Cybersecurity Lab to further demonstrate its commitment to increasing cybersecurity standards. The Cybersecurity Lab is a collaborative platform for information security, emergency response, and safety professionals to work together on common cybersecurity requirements and goals. To tackle increasing cyber risks, experts are networking, discussing, and assessing best practise techniques and tactics.
Huawei has long collaborated with industry stakeholders like as the GSMA, 3GPP, OIC-CERT, and others to investigate emerging cybersecurity threats and establish independent certifications and standards like the NESAS Security Assurance Specifications. Huawei is also leading the formation of the OIC-CERT 5G Security Working Group (WG), which aims to improve cybersecurity measures that are commensurate to the challenges posed by digital technological advancements.
