Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President of HMD Global (MENA & India), said: “HMD Global has achieved phenomenal growth in the past five years, with the best of the phone ecosystem – thanks mainly to our patrons and everyone in our stakeholder chain. As we mark this important milestone, we aim to accelerate our company’s mission to make 5G smartphones more accessible globally while expanding into priority markets.”

Michelle Wibowo added: “It was a pleasure to turn such an iconic phone into a cake. It took lots of testing to get it perfect but I’m thrilled with the result.”

HMD Global is the Finnish business behind Nokia phones such as the Nokia 3310 and new sturdy smartphones such as the Nokia XR20, which is designed to withstand whatever life throws at it.

Michelle Wibowo, a world-renowned sugar artisan, spent 40 hours creating the life-size Nokia 3310 cake. The inside of the cake is composed of chocolate sponge and vanilla buttercream, with a sugar shell coating for the iconic Nokia 3310 case. Each button has been manually cut and moulded to perfection before being put to the case.

Nokia lovers all over the world rejoiced when HMD Global re-released the Nokia 3310 with a modern twist in 2017. The custom-designed user interface gives a classic a new look, and it includes everything you’d expect from a Nokia phone, including a long-lasting battery and a solid chassis, as well as Snake, the iconic mobile phone game.
