The Emirates Scout Association hosted a live “Learn to Code” workshop at the SAP House at Expo 2020 Dubai, collaborating with World Scouting, GEMS Education, and global technology company SAP.
The workshop was conducted as part of the World Scouting Camp activities code-named JOTA-JOTI, the largest internet-based event with over 3 million people. The event drew scouts from all over the world, more than 150 scouts from the United Arab Emirates who joined through Zoom, and more than 1,000 young thinkers from 172 nations.
The workshop was hosted in the presence of His Excellency Maher Nasser – Commissioner-General of the United Nations at Expo 2020, His Excellency Dr.Salem Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki – Chairman of the Emirates Scout Association, His Excellency Khalil Rahma – Secretary-General of the Emirates Scout Association, Wissam Kadi, Director of Global Initiatives at SAP Next-Gen, and Deirdre O’Reilly, Head of EXPO 2020 at SAP, Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary-General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and Dr. Katharina Schafer, Global Head of University Alliances at SAP joined the event virtually.
