ManageEngine has added augmented analytical capabilities to its AI Assistant Zia. The company’s flagship IT analytics solution, Analytics Plus, now allows users to obtain quicker insights by giving narrative insights into their IT data with no human intervention. This instantly available feature enables users to make faster decisions and minimise IT expenses while also increasing revenue and productivity and improving end-user happiness.

According to the company’s recent 2021 Digital Readiness Survey, 64 percent of firms worldwide have boosted their usage of business analytics to assist decision-making, and more than 60% have increased their use of available data. On the other hand, IT service desks rely on database administrators for reports and dashboards to read, comprehend, and interpret their IT data. This procedure takes time and necessitates the use of database professionals, who may or may not be familiar with the IT department’s operational systems. Additionally, these reports may not provide actionable insights, such as those gleaned from detailed charts, pivots, and dashboards using sophisticated testing and interpretative skills. As a result, when service desks have access to the insights, they are frequently useless or outdated.

“Having worked with the analytics market for over 10 years and in IT for over 19 years, ManageEngine understands the IT analytics market and its demand for a reliable, scalable analytics solution that offers meaningful insights faster,” said Rakesh Jayaprakash, product manager at ManageEngine.

“To meet these demands, we’ve enhanced Zia, our AI-bot, to read, interpret and provide actionable insights in the form of digestible narratives. Using this, users can easily understand trends, anomalies, deviations in their data, and get predictions on the future—all just by clicking one button. Accessible from every report and dashboard, these automated insights work behind the scenes to give you instant insights into things that need your attention right away,” commented Rakesh Jayaprakash.

Leo Escobar, the database administrator for Home Partners of America, one of America’s largest rent-to-own companies, commented on the company’s experience with Analytics Plus: “Analytics Plus is a simple, user-friendly, and flexible BI solution that helped us increase our productivity by 30 percent. Using the application, we were to streamline data from several IT applications and maintain a single data repository, which over 100 of users can access any time to generate their own reports in no time, error-free.”

Speaking of Analytics Plus’ AI-enabled reporting feature, Escobar added, “Analytics Plus has made it possible for everyone in the Home Partners team to generate and gather insights faster. Using these insights, they were able to modify their operations and speed up end user processes as well as the team’s internal operations.”

Simplify data analysis with conversational support

While users could get reports by simply asking or typing in a question in the past, there is always a need to drill down into reports and view underlying details, such as what caused the increase in IT spending, why are project backlogs suddenly increasing, why are projects not meeting deadlines, and so on. Users may have meaningful dialogues about important metrics and KPIs using ManageEngine’s conversational support for Zia, its AI-bot, by asking more questions and refining original queries by adding more variables and parameters.

Explicate Strategic Decision-making with Scenario Planning

“In order to stay ahead of the curve, businesses need to make strategic decisions and plans for the future. These decisions are often based on predictive analytics. Although the theory is technically sound, in practice, predictive analysis tends to fall prey to one of these errors—over prediction or under prediction. Scenario planning eliminates the errors involved in prediction-based legacy planning systems by factoring in multiple scenarios. This allows users to effectively assess a situation by considering multiple outcomes—both in the positive and negative end of the spectrum,” Jayaprakash said.

Scenario planning helps C-suite executives, IT leaders, managers, and senior staff members create fail-safe procedures that can be used in any circumstance. It also enables them to develop strong yet adaptable approaches that can react quickly to minor changes in critical situations.

Users can use scenario planning to:

• Assess the influence of various scenarios on outcomes

• Determine the driving factors in each given circumstance and generate a variety of alternative scenarios

• Evaluate the effectiveness of plans in the face of key uncertainties
