Mediclinic has gone live with InterSystems TrakCare. The InterSystems TrakCare unified healthcare information system has been implemented at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is in line with Welcare’s strategy for participating in Dubai’s Healthcare Information Exchange programme (NABIDH), which aims to provide healthcare professionals with secure access to patient medical records from all public and private healthcare facilities in Dubai.

Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, as part of Mediclinic International, one of the world’s largest private healthcare groups, is proud of its long heritage while looking to the future. Mediclinic Welcare Hospital is upgrading other hospital facilities to provide new services and patient comforts after recently expanding and adding capacity to its busy outpatient department.

TrakCare was recently implemented at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, making it the 6th hospital and 26th site in the Mediclinic Middle East Group to do so.

TrakCare’s unified clinical and revenue cycle management capabilities will provide Mediclinic Welcare Hospital’s healthcare practitioners with a full view of each patient’s clinical, administrative, and financial information at any time. By the end of the first quarter of 2022, Mediclinic Middle East (MCME) plans to have TrakCare installed in all of its UAE hospitals and clinics.By lowering waiting times and minimising needless testing, the EMR system aids MCME clinicians in making decisions and provides additional possibilities to provide patients with a better experience and a more seamless care journey.

In the United Arab Emirates, Mediclinic Middle East runs seven hospitals with over 900 inpatient beds and over twenty clinics.

“At Mediclinic, we are committed to offering the most comprehensive and evidence-based patient care, delivered in a compassionate manner. Our technology transformation agenda enables us to achieve these objectives efficiently to exceed our patients’ expectations whilst at the same time establishing the digital foundation required to facilitate our growth across the continuum of care,” said Augustine Amusu, Chief Information Officer at Mediclinic Middle East. “The implementation of TrakCare at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital brings us closer to our digital transformation goals across the network.”

“Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, like all Mediclinic facilities, has a clear goal of providing excellent patient care with measurable clinical outcomes,” said Ali Abi Raad, InterSystems Country Manager for the Middle East and India.

He added, “We are pleased to contribute to this important goal by  deploying TrakCare at all Mediclinic facilities in the UAE which will enable the hospitals and clinics to deliver better healthcare service, enhance patient safety and overall health outcomes.
