Nozomi Networks, a global provider of operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) security, has announced its attendance at the 16th annual Middle East Rail, the region’s rail show for innovation, technology, and strategy. The event will take place from May 17 to 18 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates. The company will demonstrate the breadth of its portfolio, which includes leading OT and IoT security solutions, as well as how its technologies can secure modern transportation, at the exhibition.

On the first day of the event, Bachir Moussa, Regional Director MEAR at Nozomi Networks, will share unique perspectives on OT/IoT Systems and their challenges in the transportation industry at the Middle East Rail Keynote Theatre.

By targeting OT networks and IT devices used in critical transportation infrastructure, cybercriminals can create immediate havoc. Global companies such as Maersk, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Matson have all recently suffered catastrophic attacks. Transportation and logistics companies are highly targeted by cyber adversaries because they have more at stake in terms of business revenue and reputation. According to Gartner, cyber attackers will have weaponized operational technology (OT) environments by 2025, allowing them to successfully harm or kill humans.

Commenting on the company’s participation, Bachir Moussa, Regional Director MEAR at Nozomi Networks, said, “Threats to the OT/IT environment are at the peak. It is now more critical than ever to put in place nimble security controls in your cybersecurity architecture, especially in the transportation industry. Today, everything is reliant on technology and increasingly tech leaders in the transportation industry are making OT/IT security a top priority. From recent incidents, we know perpetrators will do whatever it takes to cause irrevocable harm to transportation organizations. At Middle East Rail, we will showcase our key offerings, spread awareness and educate attendees on current trends, important security controls for their OT/IT environments and how to efficiently respond to incidents. It is a great platform for industry stakeholders to gather and share best practices and learn new developments.”

At Middle East Rail, Nozomi Networks will showcase its scalable, cloud-based SaaS solution Vantage, as well as other key solutions from its portfolio. Critical infrastructure defenses are maturing significantly, thanks in part to advances in public-private collaboration aimed at tightening defenses, and Nozomi Networks has made a significant contribution to this awareness with innovative security solutions. Furthermore, government guidelines, mandates, and legislation, combined with sector self-governance, will help establish and enforce a standard baseline for critical infrastructure cybersecurity.

The Nozomi Networks team will be available at stand F68 in Hall 1 during the two-day transportation-focused cybersecurity conference. Senior executives and cybersecurity experts from the company will be on hand at the show to interact with attendees and hold strategic discussions about OT cybersecurity in transportation.
