Moro Hub partnered with NetApp as the technology that would power the hub’s application modernization platform for enterprises in the United Arab Emirates. Moro Hub is home to the region’s first-tier III solar-powered Green Data Centre, which focuses on sustainable practices to deliver customer-centric innovation.

“Our association with NetApp is the next step in the evolution of data services for our clients. It will not only provide a robust IT architecture for government and enterprise clients but also help our efforts to tackle security challenges faced by businesses in the country,” said Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA.

“A key advantage is that NetApp’s unified software-defined platform supports all types of data across the Data Centre and the cloud, whether it’s Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), or Simple Storage Service (S3), which will help meet customers existing requirements while keeping the budgets affordable,” he added.

To provide the scalability and flexibility required to upgrade the apps and services, Moro Hub makes considerable use of container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes. Moro Hub hopes to make use of the underlying technologies and improve Kubernetes-native integration due to this collaboration. Moro Hub clients will get the most out of their investment by simplifying container deployment across the company while also securing and managing data across the data fabric, wherever and wherever it is needed.

“We are incredibly excited to be a key enabler in supporting Moro Hub’s efforts to provide businesses with sustainable data management offerings,” said Fadi Kanafani, Managing Director – Middle East at NetApp.

He added, “Not only does this engagement allow us to work with the first Green Solar-Powered Data Centre, but we also believe that the introduction of NetApp solutions will enrich Moro Hub’s offerings to support their data life cycle management journeys.”

NetApp and Moro Hub hope to simplify, integrate, and unify the use of the container platform as a service by leveraging NetApp’s considerable experience with NAS and NFS protocols, as well as the solution’s robust integration in containers.

“NetApp’s roadmap and vision for helping customers to build their data fabrics, coupled with our hyperscaler alliances, allows Moro Hub to have a seamless integration and single data management platform in a hybrid-cloud model, across on-premises and public cloud environments when required,” added Kanafani.

Moro Hub, as a Dubai 10X enabler, strives to position the UAE at the forefront of technology innovation, in line with the UAE Centennial 2071. Moro Hub will also use this collaboration to host, manage, and secure clients’ data and scale up and out as needed to grow without any disruptions or outages.

Moro Hub’s activities revolve around providing customers with best-of-breed data management, which allows the company to collaborate with industry experts. Moro Hub and NetApp’s collaboration makes a unique addition to the UAE’s digital landscape, and it confirms Moro Hub’s goals of expanding its application modernization services to businesses that require the capacity to succeed.
