At Motorola, April 3rd represented a particularly significant milestone for the company. In 2019, this was the first day the moto z3 combined with the 5G moto mod™ became the world’s first commercially available smartphone to connect to 5G network.
On the same day in 1973, Motorola publicly demonstrated the world’s first portable cellular telephone and system, using a prototype of the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. From the first phone call, to connecting consumers across the globe to the fastest 5G speeds, Motorola has been there every step of the way.
Over the past two years, the company has continued to advance its 5G innovation agenda by introducing a number of mmWave and sub-6 5G capable devices around the world.
