At Motorola, April 3rd represented a particularly significant milestone for the company. In 2019, this was the first day the moto z3 combined with the 5G moto mod™ became the world’s first commercially available smartphone to connect to 5G network.

On the same day in 1973, Motorola publicly demonstrated the world’s first portable cellular telephone and system, using a prototype of the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. From the first phone call, to connecting consumers across the globe to the fastest 5G speeds, Motorola has been there every step of the way.

Over the past two years, the company has continued to advance its 5G innovation agenda by introducing a number of mmWave and sub-6 5G capable devices around the world. Whether introducing the Motorola edge family, which delivers pure speed to the premium segment, or more recent 5G additions like the moto g100 and moto g50 (which reinforces a commitment to democratizing 5G with affordable devices), Motorola recognizes its role in pushing the adoption of 5G technology forward.

On 3rd April, Motorola celebrates its success in the 5G space thus far – and affirms its commitment to bringing the power of 5G into more consumers’ hands, no matter where they are.
