PAC-MAN COMMUNITY will be available exclusively on Facebook Gaming. PAC-MAN has been a cultural symbol in the world of games and beyond, including television, music, and film, for more than 40 years.
This isn’t your parents’ PAC-MAN (though the entire classic PAC-MAN is playable as an Easter egg). PAC-MAN COMMUNITY, created by Genvid in collaboration with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, brings players, gaming video creators, spectators, and world builders together in new and exciting ways. Play solo or in groups of up to four in real-time co-op multiplayer mode, working together to complete each maze while competing for the greatest score total. In addition to the built-in mazes in PAC-MAN COMMUNITY, users can use the Maze Creator tool to design their own levels and challenges for limitless replayability.
The game also has a Watch tab, which is powered by Facebook Interactives and features Facebook Gaming producers live streaming the game. Watch mode transforms mazes into 3D streams powered by Unreal Engine, allowing viewers to directly engage with the video player to choose a side and power up AI PAC-MAN or Ghosts in competition. Consider it a never-ending interactive PAC-MAN watch party. Viewers can work together to obtain global unlocks for the Maze Creator tool by interacting with a streamer’s session later in the beta. The watch tab will display AI characters when a streamer isn’t active, similar to an idle arcade machine.
Facebook Gaming producers may now invite their communities to join them in-game to play or spectate right from their livestream with the new Play with Streamer tool. Daily mazes generated by players will be featured in the game, and community-oriented challenges, as well as mazes managed and developed by streamers’ communities, will be available soon.
Whether it’s playing games together, watching gaming videos, or interacting over games in Facebook Groups, we believe games bring people together in powerful ways.
