Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) organised by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) supports Dubai's ambitions to reach first place worldwide and maintain a globally leading position in sustainability, competitiveness and green economy. By implementing some of winning entries of first SDME in several properties in Dubai. SDME is a partnership between DEWA and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

The meeting, which convened the UAE’s leading scientific minds, several ideas to support development of scientific research, as well as concepts, initiatives, and projects to chalk out policies and programs were discussed. The meeting called upon the UAE’s scientists to present their ideas and challenges with proposed solutions, future plans, visions, and scientific initiatives to achieve national strategies and objectives.

“We must develop innovative technologies that ensure security and continuity of high-quality services, to fulfil the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy and enhance Dubai’s status as world leader in innovation and safety,” says H.E. Al Shaibani.

Dubai Future Council on Energy’s mandate is to explore future of energy, and identify opportunities to transform Dubai into a sustainable ecosystem powered by clean energy. Dubai’s main energy direction is in line with the wise leadership directives. It includes use of clean energy and employing digital transformation, smart grids, tools of Fourth Industrial Revolution and disruptive technologies.

In 100 days, the UAE will be the first country in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region to host a World Expo in the largest global gathering since the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UAE is a leading country in adopting effective policies such as the economic diversity policy which focuses on a green economy and diversifying energy sources. This is through capacity building in clean and renewable energy.

DEWA's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai provides a unique experience for visitors. DEWA intends to become the world's first digital utility to use autonomous systems through Digital DEWA.
