VMware and Prince Sultan University (PSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create an Innovation Center with software and resources from VMware, announced the company.
The planned innovation centre, according to the statement, would provide students, researchers, and companies with hands-on experience with disruptive digital solutions for app modernisation, cloud, networking, security, and digital workplace.
“The Innovation Center is intended to spur innovation, research, and learning at the university, and amongst local businesses and partners that are interested in embracing a cloud-first approach. By helping a diverse range of people and organizations gain experience with VMware’s solutions, the Innovation Center will play an important role in furthering Saudi Arabia’s digitization agenda in line with Vision 2030,” said Dr. Ahmed Yamani, president of PSU.
The Innovation Center, which is expected to launch in the first half of the year, will also be used to show local clients and partners the benefits of VMware’s solutions, with the goal of accelerating digital transformation in the local business community.

VMware is committed to education and knowledge transfer, and I believe that this initiative will help give young people, researchers, and businesses the knowledge they need to innovate and develop their digital transformation plans.”
VMware is committed to strengthening Saudi educators. PSU and VMware began negotiations in June 2021 to establish a Regional VMware IT Academy to help the development of youth digital skills in accordance with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The agreement was signed under the patronage of H.E. Abdullah Alswaha, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
