Schneider Electric is focusing on bridging progress and sustainability for all at the ongoing inaugural edition of LEAP conference at Riyadh Front Expo Centre, a release from the company said today.

The company is highlighting the integral role that digital transformation and green technologies will play in achieving Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. LEAP, which opened today, will run till Feb. 3.

Luc Remont, Executive Vice President of International Operations and Member of the Executive Committee, said: “In the face of heightened climate change and risks, Schneider Electric accelerates on its commitments and business strategy in Saudi Arabia. Sustainable digital innovation, powering our lives through smart green energy is the fastest way to decarbonise buildings, homes, data centres, infrastructure, and grids.”

A leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation in homes, buildings, data centres, infrastructure and industries, Schneider Electric will engage with thought leaders and companies to explore how they can leverage digital transformation and green technologies to become more energy-efficient, productive, and most importantly, sustainable.

Mohamed Shaheen, Cluster President for Saudi Arabia and Yemen at Schneider Electric, said: “Saudi Arabia is leading the way when it comes to having a comprehensive sustainability vision, and Schneider Electric is committed to contributing towards this vision through our local manufacturing, helping young Saudis become leaders in the sustainable energy space and offering world-class green technology and innovation to realise a greener future for the Kingdom.”

During the event, Remont will participate in a panel discussion on how to achieve a sustainable future for all. The panel will highlight the importance of sustainability, driven by innovation and technology to achieve a better and greener future for all. This agenda is aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative – part of the Vision 2030 strategy—to tackle environmental challenges faced by not only the Kingdom, but the entire region as well.

Sustainability is at the heart of the Vision 2030 with the Saudi Green Initiative aiming to reverse environmental degradation and climate change through an extensive reforestation project and a shift to the use of renewable energy resources. It also involves the planting of 10 billion trees in the country, restoring 40 million hectares of degraded land, generating 50 percent of electricity from renewables by 2030, and eliminating over 130 million tons of carbon emissions.
