Selfdrive, the UAE’s car rental tech platform, is expanding its geographic reach by launching in Qatar and Bahrain, following Oman. Following the app’s increasing popularity and success, it will now cater to the needs of individual customers, business executives, visitors, and corporates in the Qatar and Bahrain markets, making it the region’s first Super app.

With a seamless customer experience and a diverse range of product offerings via the App, the company aims to capture 50-65% of the digital rental market share in these markets. As part of the launch offer, Selfdrive gives its customers a BD 10 or QR 100 flat discount on their first booking.

Selfdrive customers in the region have access to over 5,000 vehicles available for rentals ranging from 1 day to 36 months delivered to their doorstep, thanks to the app’s simple and convenient ‘Search – Select – Pay’ ethos. The longest lease period available is up to 36 months, with Subscription (Micro lease) and LeasePro (lease to own) features also available.

“Our expansion into Bahrain and Qatar is testament to our growing popularity and success, and an indicator of the changing landscape of the automotive rental market in the region and beyond. We plan to add further new markets in the Middle East and are actively looking at other regions globally as business goes from strength to strength,” says Soham Shah, CEO of Selfdrive.

When it comes to user experience, Selfdrive uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to tailor each user’s experience based on their vehicle preference. Customers are not required to sift through a long list of vehicles and are instead directed to the types of vehicles that meet their requirements. Selfdrive intends to expand app features, with new functionalities planned for 2022. Nissan, Infiniti, Renault, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Geely, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Kia are among the brands available. The number of brands on the App continues to grow, with over 20+ automotive brands and dealerships listed.

Selfdrive is now looking into the markets of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. More plans are in the works to expand westward into the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States by the third and fourth quarters of 2022.

To experience the journey, customers can download the mobile application “Selfdrive – Car Rental” on Android & IOS or website https://selfdrive.bh and https://selfdrive.qa
