Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), inaugurated DEWA’s Ground Station at the Research and Development (R&D) Centre in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

Since the start of 5G rollout activities, the UAE telecom has made vital contributions to Emirati society, offering residents, enterprises, and industries valuable connection benefits through the technology. InfraX will now have access to highly capable 5G network to enable a seamless use case that boosts on-site operational efficiency, with 5G housing the capabilities to generate transformative and sustainable outcomes.

Du will create DEWA’s new mobile core edge infrastructure using a Network Function Virtualization (NFV) infrastructure solution, independently separating and scaling the control and user planes. DEWA’s InfraX will provide smooth and innovative services to DEWA and its subsidiaries thanks to du’s 5G SA solution. Both sides have agreed to develop new use cases for mobile edge computing to improve operations.

InfraX- Information Communication and Technology arm of Digital DEWA, where it focusses on connecting Digital DEWA value added services from its Data Centers and Cloud Services to customers. Digital DEWA was launched in 2017.
