Trend Micro Incorporated has recognised the Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi, for its effective implementation of cybersecurity initiatives in the country’s goal of increasing digital capabilities, announced a company press release.
During the Cyber Defense Challenge (CDC), Trend Micro presented the MoI with a prestigious award recognising its leadership in cybersecurity intelligence and tactics in securing the country’s digital goals.
Salah Suleiman, Trend Micro’s Sales Manager for the UAE, presented the award to Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Humaid Al Mayahi, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Digital Security Directorate, who led the ministry’s delegation.
“Platforms like the Cyber Defense Challenge (CDC) competition provide an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness and recognize excellence in cybersecurity,” said Majd Sinan, Country Manager, Trend Micro UAE.
“In alignment with the country’s vision, the MoI has been instrumental in demonstrating stability through a higher standard of cybersecurity practices and transforming the nation. A recognition of this stature from Aqdar is a testament to our efforts and motivates us to further continue our movement in supporting organizations from the private and public sector in their pursuit of achieving a stronger security posture with state-of-the-art solutions, expertise, and industry-leading insights,” Sinan added.
Trend Micro stated that the Cyber Defense Challenge (CDC) seeks to enhance the nation’s digital infrastructure and promote cybersecurity awareness. Over 30 participants attended a one-day hands-on workshop led by IT specialists from throughout the UAE. They were subjected to simulated cyber-attacks and forced to decide the best course of action to demonstrate their ability to safeguard their digital assets. During the event, contestants worked together to create and execute techniques for efficiently detecting and blocking threats while competing against one another.
Adding to the event’s significance, Trend Micro and the Ministry of Interior were acknowledged by Aqdar for their exemplary cybersecurity practises and services bolstering the UAE’s digital infrastructure. Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Harib Alkatbi, General Coordinator of the Khalifa Empowerment Program, Aqdar, presented the prestigious award.
