Workforce training is key for business continuity – is your staff ready for the new normal?

It has been a few months now since the Covid-19 crisis fundamentally changed the world. Businesses have had to adapt to the current environment, often pivoting their business models entirely. Online video conferencing is the new norm, e-learning is the new employee training and uninterrupted connectivity and security are key for organisations to maintain business continuity.

The Covid-19 crisis has undoubtedly changed the way that businesses look at their operations. Simply put, most IT environments and support organisations were not designed with the scenario we now face in mind. Business continuity solutions that increase security and productivity have been key in the success of businesses over the past few months.

In April 2020, as the world was in the midst of transferring millions of office workers to a work-from-home model, we announced our support for this global transition through free trials of key business continuity solutions. We did this because we are dedicated to ensuring continuity of service to our customers.

Amid the turmoil that defined the beginning of this year, there have been successes. Organisations that put emphasis on business continuity solutions early on have survived, and in some cases even thrived. Now, as more workers shift to the work-from-home model, it is time to reflect on what business will look like in the “new normal”, and how we will maintain business continuity far into the future.

Solutions need to be adaptable and scalable and need to remain relevant for whatever the future may bring. Recognising this, at Micro Focus we are extending free trials for many of our business continuity solutions including Voltage SecureMailNetIQ Advanced AuthenticationLoadRunner, and Social Media Governance.

To add to this, we are now offering a free trial on employee care application for Service Management Automation designed to help organisations to have real-time, clean data on the health care of their staff, to ensure the business continuity and minimal impact on services.

However, we realise that establishing support for business continuity is not simply a “set it and forget it” process. Business continuity solutions that allow employees to work from home like social media governance, security authentication protocols and remote email encryption need to be analysed and updated as businesses grow and change.

Most importantly, both new employees and existing staff need to be trained on how to use new business continuity solutions. Any new solution or process can be rendered completely useless if your workforce is untrained in its functions.

To that end, to complement our free-of-charge trials, packaged services and solutions designed to support business continuity, we are also offering access to our Adoption Readiness Tool (ART) training development solution.

The Adoption Readiness Tool (ART) training solutions will help employees transition to new ways of working. ART enables you to rapidly generate your own custom onboarding content and launch virtual training with simulation-based hands-on exercises and videos, on any topic required, simply and quickly.

Training your workforce to use business continuity solutions is vital for continuing success both during the Covid-19 crisis and after the crisis ends. A quality business solution partner will be there for your business, not only providing software and solutions, but also ensuring that your workforce is ready to take on new processes and technology.

This crisis has brought the world together in ways that no one could have ever imagined. At Micro Focus, we want to extend this commitment to community support and prepare your workforce to succeed in the moment, and for years to come.
