WSO2 extends digital initiatives in MEA by opening new office in Dubai

WSO2 has extended its digital initiatives in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) by opening a new office in Dubai, UAE, in response to rising demand for its open-source, cloud-native solutions from organizations and governments across the region. Uday Shankar Kizhepat has been named vice president and general manager (VP and GM) for the region, responsible for spearheading the company’s expansion.

“As more businesses and governments in the Middle East and Africa engage with consumers and citizens online, we have seen a tremendous increase in demand for our open-source technology to support their digital transformation and deliver modern, secure digital services,” said Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, WSO2 founder and CEO.

WSO2 has experienced a 70% increase in its customer base across the MEA area since 2020. These companies are leveraging the full power of their APIs to safely offer their digital services and apps by using WSO2 for API administration, integration, and customer identity and access management (CIAM).

Uday is the VP and General Manager of WSO2’s MEA Region, where he is in charge of overall regional growth, including go-to-market strategies, investments, and staffing. He has more than 20 years of enterprise software sales expertise and a track record of surpassing targets, implementing strategic initiatives, and executing sales programs to increase market share and growth. Uday has comprehensive knowledge of top enterprise-level solutions and their positioning in multiple industries as a certified Cloud Practitioner and Digital Change Champion.
