YesWeHack, Europe’s top Bug Bounty and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (VDP) platform, has appointed Rabih Achkar as Regional Director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, to oversee the company’s regional expansion.

“We are here to offer to the region’s digital ecosystem  a transformational approach to cyber audits  through our  crowdsourced security platform ,” said Rabih Achkar.

He added, “Governments across the region have worked long and hard to support their communities, foster innovation, and drive sustainable growth. But their efforts are under threat from malicious parties who are continually evolving their techniques to evade cyber defenses.”

Rabih Achkar will play a key role in assisting and advising organizations of all sizes and sectors on how to successfully implement a bug bounty program, and

The prevalence of cyberattacks has increased since the attack surface of all organizations in the region has expanded considerably as a result of remarkable digital transformation. In the United Arab Emirates alone, the Dubai Police Department’s Cybercrime Department received 25,000 reports of harmful behavior in 2020, the greatest level on record. In addition, in 2020, Saudi Arabia will face more than 22 million cyberattacks, including 7 million in the first two months of 2021.

YesWeHack’s approach to cyber-security is based on its unique Bug Bounty network, which taps into a global community of over 30,000 ethical hackers from 170 countries to supply customers with a nearly limitless pool of experienced testers. This group of professionals can be hired to look for flaws in websites, mobile apps, and IT infrastructure and then report their discoveries via a secure process.

Subscribers to the platform can either select experts with the talents that best fit their use case confidentially or publish their scope to the whole YesWeHack community publicly. YesWeHack also has a tried-and-true VDP (vulnerability disclosure policy), which is a secure and transparent framework enabling anyone to submit flaws. VDP is part of ISO29147 and ISO30111, and international agencies, including NIST, ENISA, CISA, and the OECD recommend it as a best practice.

YesWeHack’s growth into the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa follow a year of accolades and industry firsts. In April, the European Cybersecurity Organisation awarded the “Cybersecurity Made in Europe” designation the company (ECSO). In the same month, Swiss Post announced the commencement of a public Bug Bounty program, which was followed in June by another with Asian eCommerce giant Lazada. It received EUR 16 million in Series-B funding in July to help it expand internationally. In September, the business introduced the world to “virtual patching,” a technology for preventing the exploitation of vulnerabilities in hours rather than days or weeks.
