LG’s Video Conferencing Platform delivers new ezOntheCall telemedicine service

LG Electronics’ Video Conferencing Platform is now delivering new ezOntheCall telemedicine service. This provides medical practitioners with an improved tool for remote delivery of outpatient support. ezOntheCall uses advanced cloud computing technology to provide real-time access to medical records and clinical test results stored in hospital information systems (HIS), allowing healthcare professionals to quickly and easily retrieve the most up-to-date data on patients for sharing over video calls.

LG worked with ezCaretech, a health-care technology company, to build the telemedicine solution, customising its Video Conferencing Platform to ensure a consistent user experience. The solution, which combines LG’s WebRTC-based Video Conferencing Platform with ezCaretech’s EMR-based telemedicine application, allows medical centre and hospital employees to manage administrative operations and update pertinent data while speaking with patients remotely. Outpatient services are also covered by ezOntheCall, which includes a gateway that allows patients to make follow-up visits or consultations as well as get prescriptions refilled without having to visit their healthcare professionals in person.

LG’s Video Conferencing Platform is designed to fulfil the growing demand for effective tools for non-face-to-face diagnosis and medical consultation in the healthcare sector. The technology, which delivers high-quality audio and video, integrates with PC web browsers, mobile devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT), allowing direct peer-to-peer communication without the need for additional plugins or apps.

LG’s latest telemedicine solution, which was chosen by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs (MNGHA), is being implemented this month in six major hospitals across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh and approximately 70 primary healthcare centres. The solution will be offered in the United States and other key regions later this year, following this initial launch.

“The ezOntheCalltelemedicine solution featuring LG’s Video Conferencing Platform will usher in a new era of remote patient services,” said Paik Ki-mun, senior vice president and head of the Information Display business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. Also explained, “LG is focusing on the changing needs of the market andin partnership with key players across diverse sectors such as healthcare,we continue to invest heavily in the next generation of remote cloud-based service solutions.”
