Netskope unveiled new research confirming that attackers are finding new ways to evade detection and blend in with normal network traffic using HTTP and HTTPS to deliver malware.
Cloudflare detected and mitigated dozens of hyper-volumetric DDoS attacks over the weekend. The majority of attacks peaked in the ballpark of 50-70 million requests per second (rps) with the largest exceeding 71 million rps.
Gartner named Cloudflare a Leader in its 2022 “Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Web Application and API Protection (WAAP)” report, which assessed 11 vendors on their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision.” This accomplishment demonstrates Cloudflare’s ongoing commitment to and investment in this space
It’s also worth noting that this attack occurred over HTTPS. HTTPS DDoS attacks require more computational resources due to the higher cost of establishing a secure TLS encrypted connection.
APIs are being used by organizations more than ever before, but many are struggling to secure this traffic because legacy solutions are often expensive, overly complex, and slow.
