Tesla rolls out Full Self Driving 10 beta

Share

Tesla has rolled out the Full Self-Driving Beta v10 software to its early release fleet, a version that CEO Elon Musk described as “mind-blowing.” According to Electrek, the Full Self-Driving 10 beta looks to make sharper and more confident decisions on the road.

If Tesla’s previous large Full Self Driving beta was all about enabling additional semi-autonomous functionalities off the highway, the company’s latest release is all about having you trust these capabilities.

It’s been over a year since Tesla began testing its Full Self-Driving Beta with a select group of customers through its early release program.

Although the software allows Tesla vehicles to drive themselves on highways and city streets essentially, it is still classified as level 2 driver assistance because it requires constant driver supervision. The driver must maintain control of the car by keeping their hands on the steering wheel and be ready to take over.

Users who bought the FSD package have been promised a general release of the complete self beta software by CEO Elon Musk, but it has been delayed for a while.

Tesla is likely to deliver a new FSD Beta version 10 upgrade after two more “point releases” in the coming weeks, according to the CEO.

That release was also delayed, but Musk indicated two weeks ago that it would arrive on Friday, September 10th, and we now discover that it is currently being pushed to early access users.

The latest software update has been received by several Tesla owners who were part of the early access program, as seen in the screenshots below.

Some users in USA are already releasing early demos of the new software, which is allegedly considerably enhancing the FSD system’s decision-making.

The visualizations for driving have been modified. They appear to be very clean from above; however, their appearance changes depending on the situation.

Below is how they appear in a Model X’s instrument cluster screen, which shows the visualizations:

The way we drive on the highway hasn’t changed, and that’s on purpose. At the moment, Musk claims that the non-beta manufacturing road navigation is “more polished” than that of the Full Self-Driving counterpart. It’s possible that a properly coordinated approach won’t arrive until the 10.1 release.

It’s unclear when regular Tesla owners will be able to get their hands on FSD 10. However, pre-release versions may become more accessible shortly. Tesla believed that with the 10.1 release, which could occur in as soon as two weeks, a public option to request the beta would be accessible. The enhancements may not be enough to warrant the FSD package’s high prices, yet you may be pleased with your purchase.
