It’s been over a year since Tesla began testing its Full Self-Driving Beta with a select group of customers through its early release program.
Although the software allows Tesla vehicles to drive themselves on highways and city streets essentially, it is still classified as level 2 driver assistance because it requires constant driver supervision. The driver must maintain control of the car by keeping their hands on the steering wheel and be ready to take over.
Users who bought the FSD package have been promised a general release of the complete self beta software by CEO Elon Musk, but it has been delayed for a while.
Tesla is likely to deliver a new FSD Beta version 10 upgrade after two more “point releases” in the coming weeks, according to the CEO.
That release was also delayed, but Musk indicated two weeks ago that it would arrive on Friday, September 10th, and we now discover that it is currently being pushed to early access users.
