The inaugural Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, 2024 Riyadh at the Esports World Cup has concluded with the KPL Dream Team emerging as the first-ever champions of the event. This victory not only secured them a share of the $3 million USD prize pool but also earned them a coveted spot in the upcoming 2024 Honor of Kings Championship in Indonesia.

The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason was a significant milestone in a new three-year partnership with the Esports World Cup, highlighting Honor of Kings on a global stage. KPL Dream Team showcased their dominance by securing a 3-0 victory over LGD Gaming in a thrilling best-of-five series. The team’s stellar performance, particularly by KPL.YINUO, who was named FMVP, was instrumental in their success. The introduction of the new hero, Augran, proved to be a game-changer, playing a crucial role in all three matches.

James Yang, Senior Director of Level Infinite Global Esports Center, praised the event: “The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason at the Esports World Cup was a masterclass in esports competition, featuring the best teams from around the globe. The Esports World Cup has set a new standard for esports events, and we’re excited to continue expanding Honor of Kings tournaments globally.”

With the Midseason event concluded, all eyes are now on the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship, scheduled for October. This premier event will bring together the top 16 teams from across the globe, including representatives from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Türkiye, Brazil, the Middle East and North Africa, America, Europe, and the Pacific, competing for a share of a $1 million USD prize pool.

The 2024 Honor of Kings Championship will mark the culmination of the Honor of Kings Global Invitational Series 2024. Announced in February 2024, the series has included major events such as the S1 event in Turkey, the S2 event in Malaysia, the Midseason in Riyadh, and now the upcoming Championship in Indonesia. Additionally, Honor of Kings has introduced the Open Series, providing a pathway to professional play, alongside other annual support initiatives.
