The 31st edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the foremost global event for the travel and tourism industry, is set to return to the Dubai World Trade Centre this week. From May 6th to 9th, the annual trade show anticipates welcoming over 41,000 attendees, with 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries showcasing their offerings.
This year’s ATM revolves around the theme ‘Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel through Entrepreneurship’, underscoring the significant role of start-ups and entrepreneurs in shaping the future of the sector. The event aims to provide a platform for industry leaders and policymakers worldwide to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives and identify avenues for growth.
A comprehensive four-day conference program will feature more than 50 sessions led by over 200 esteemed speakers, addressing attendees across the Global Stage and the newly introduced Future Stage. Issam Abdulrahim Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, will deliver the keynote speech, highlighting Dubai’s tourism objectives and future plans. Additionally, a Ministerial Debate will explore strategies to support tourism development within the GCC and beyond.
The Market Insights Summit on the Global Stage will kick off proceedings, delving into the potential of emerging tourism markets such as China, India, and Latin America. The panel includes notable figures from UN Tourism, Hilton, World Travel and Tourism Council, and Roland Berger.
The Future Stage will debut with a focus on the Trends Shaping the Future of Hospitality in the Middle East, featuring representatives from prominent hotel chains and industry experts. Other sessions will cover topics like island tourism and global economic disruptions affecting travel.
Ahead of the event, Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, expressed excitement about the significant increase in exhibitor participation, making ATM 2024 the largest in its history. Growth has been witnessed across all show verticals, including notable increases in regional participation and a surge in interest from travel technology companies.
ATM remains committed to sustainability, with the Sustainability Summit addressing ESG considerations and the Sustainable Stand Award recognizing exhibitors’ efforts to reduce carbon footprints.
