The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has launched the trial operation of a smart inspection vehicle aimed at monitoring the rail right-of-way areas. This new vehicle is equipped with advanced intelligence systems and cameras, enabling it to detect violations, restricted activities, and damages within these zones.

The initiative is part of RTA’s efforts to streamline the inspection processes across the Dubai Metro and Tram networks. By utilizing cutting-edge technology, the RTA aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of daily inspections. The smart inspection vehicle represents a significant advancement in safeguarding Dubai’s rail infrastructure.

Abdulrahman Al Janahi, Director of Rail Right of Way at RTA’s Rail Agency, stated that the launch of the smart inspection vehicle, in coordination with the Smart Services Department, is a critical step forward. He highlighted that this technology would not only improve the efficiency of inspections but also help in quickly identifying and addressing any issues, thereby ensuring the safety and reliability of rail services. The vehicle uses artificial intelligence to align with advancements in the rail network.

The primary objectives of the smart inspection vehicle include achieving full coverage of inspection areas, doubling the speed of report preparation, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the outputs. The initiative is also expected to reduce human errors in the inspection process, providing robust support for decision-making.

RTA’s commitment to leveraging smart solutions underscores its focus on enhancing operational efficiency and infrastructure safety. The use of smart inspection vehicles is anticipated to significantly improve the effectiveness of rail inspections, ensuring comprehensive coverage and timely reporting of anomalies. The trial operation of the smart inspection vehicle marks a crucial development in RTA’s ongoing efforts to protect and maintain Dubai’s rail infrastructure. Through the adoption of advanced technology, the RTA aims to deliver a safer and more reliable public transport system in the city.
