Samsung Electronics, in partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), launched an innovative digital community initiative, “Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People,” aimed at engaging young people in the Olympic Movement through technology. The official event took place on July 31, 2024, at SPOT24 in Paris, an exhibition space dedicated to Paris 2024.

The launch was graced by notable figures including IOC President Thomas Bach, Anne-Sophie Voumard, Managing Director of IOC’s Television & Marketing Services, IPC President Andrew Parsons, Samsung’s Global Marketing Office President YH Lee, Samsung Electronics Europe President Il-kyung Sung, and Luc Abalo, a former gold-medal-winning French handball player and visual artist.

As part of the initiative, 10 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow winners were selected as ambassadors for “Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People.” These ambassadors, including prominent figures like Yeon Koung Kim, Andy Macdonald, Madison de Rozario, and Matt Green, will actively promote the project through social media and public engagements throughout the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The “Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People” project focuses on empowering young people to connect with Olympic values through three core challenges:

– Solve Challenge: Integrates Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow program, encouraging youth to design solutions using sports and technology to tackle social issues.

– Move Challenge: Promotes physical activity by encouraging global fans to increase their daily steps using Samsung’s smart mobile phones.

– Create Challenge: Invites participants to express creativity in a digital art community using Samsung’s smart devices and S Pen.

During the event, the 10 Solve for Tomorrow teams showcased their innovative solutions addressing real-world problems, such as aiding those with visual disabilities and enhancing worker safety.

“I’m honored to present our environmental cleanup solution at Paris 2024,” said Ngan Huu Kim Le, a U.S. team member. “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow has empowered us to contribute to a brighter future.”

IOC President Thomas Bach praised the initiative, stating, “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow provides young innovators with the tools to address global challenges. We are excited to support and collaborate with Samsung on this impactful project.” Samsung’s YH Lee highlighted the significance of the project: “This initiative exemplifies our ongoing partnership with the IOC, providing young people with meaningful opportunities to engage with Olympic values.”
