Veeam Launches Backup for Microsoft 365 v8 with Enhanced Data Resilience 

Veeam® Software, has announced the release of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8. This new version offers the most comprehensive and flexible immutability options for Microsoft 365 data, reinforcing a zero-trust, multi-layered approach to data protection. 

The latest release ensures Microsoft 365 data integrity by safeguarding it from unauthorized changes or deletions, keeping backup data safe and reliable. Currently, Veeam protects over 21 million Microsoft 365 users, making it the top choice for data resilience solutions. 

John Jester, CRO at Veeam, emphasized the critical nature of data protection, stating, “Losing the critical data, files, and communications in Microsoft 365 is a catastrophic scenario for any organization. That’s why we’re protecting over 21 million users today, more than any vendor in the market. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8 ensures organizations have ready access to crucial business information despite cyber-attacks and data disruptions.” 

The new Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8 combines immutable backups with existing immutable copies, providing robust protection for backup data. It supports various storage options including Azure Blob Storage, Amazon S3, IBM Cloud Object Storage, and S3-compatible storage, allowing organizations flexibility in their backup strategies. 

Additional features include Veeam Proxy Pools, which enhance backup processing speed and scalability by distributing traffic across multiple proxies. This update improves backup performance and supports large environments with tens of thousands of users. 

Responding to customer needs, Veeam has also introduced several new features. The update includes support for Linux-based backup proxies, which offer a lower total cost of ownership, and expanded protection for private and shared Microsoft Teams channels.
