Mira Aerospace, a global High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) technology company, has announced the successful completion of a series of test flights in the UAE. The joint venture between Bayanat, a premier provider of AI-powered geospatial analytics, and UAVOS, a US-based developer of advanced unmanned systems, conducted the flights from Abu Al Abyad Island.

The stratospheric flights, which lasted several days, showcased Mira Aerospace’s Earth Observation capabilities. In addition to gathering critical flight data, the missions tested various scenarios to explore the potential applications in Earth Observation and Environmental Monitoring.

Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat and Chairman of Mira Aerospace, highlighted the significance of these flights, stating, “As Bayanat merges with Yahsat to become Space42, Mira Aerospace’s advancements are pivotal to our vision. These successful HAPS flights bring us closer to realizing the UAE’s ambitious goals, and they reinforce our commitment to leading aerospace innovation.”

Khaled Al Marzouqi, CEO of Mira Aerospace, emphasized the UAE’s role in adopting cutting-edge technologies, positioning the country among global leaders in space innovation. He noted that HAPS technology will support vital sectors such as environment, agriculture, energy, and government.

HAPS technology, recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the top ten technologies set to impact the world, offers long-duration, zero-carbon flights powered by solar panels. These flights provide sustainable solutions for continuous Earth monitoring and communication services, particularly in uninhabited regions.

Mira Aerospace’s recent success solidifies the UAE’s position as a rising player in the global aerospace industry, paving the way for future breakthroughs and reinforcing its leadership in high-tech solutions.
