This pivotal policy aims to position Dubai as a global leader in artificial intelligence, further accelerating AI’s integration across key sectors.

The policy was introduced during DESC’s participation as the official cybersecurity partner at the inaugural Dubai AI and Web3 Festival 2024, held from 11th to 12th September at Madinat Jumeirah. The event, organized by the Dubai AI Campus in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office and the Dubai International Financial Centre, brought together industry leaders from around the world.

Yousuf Al Shaibani, CEO of DESC, emphasized the importance of the policy, stating, “The launch of the AI Security Policy highlights DESC’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s vision of becoming a global AI leader by 2031. This policy accelerates the adoption of AI technologies, aligning with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) to double the city’s economy over the next decade.”

Amer Sharaf, CEO of Cybersecurity Systems and Services at DESC, added that the policy is a critical step towards creating a safe, reliable cyberspace, further enhancing Dubai’s global leadership in cybersecurity.

The Dubai AI Security Policy is set to play a key role in attracting AI investments, fostering public-private sector collaboration, and protecting innovations from cyber threats. The policy supports Dubai’s aim of becoming a global hub for AI, further driving economic growth and building a more sustainable future.
