Saudi Arabia Launches “One Million Saudi in AI” Initiative

Saudi Arabia has made a significant stride in its digital transformation journey with the launch of the “One Million Saudi in AI” initiative. This ambitious project aims to empower a million citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and contribute to a world increasingly driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

The initiative, a joint venture between the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, was unveiled at the Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit 2024) in Riyadh. The goal is to equip Saudis with a deep understanding of AI, its ethical implications, and the practical tools needed to integrate AI into their personal and professional lives.

By investing in AI education, Saudi Arabia seeks to position itself as a global leader in the field and ensure that its citizens are well-prepared for the future. The initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s broader vision to diversify its economy and create a knowledge-based society.
