Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), the operator of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (KKIA), has announced a strategic partnership with global tech company SAP to implement intelligent purchasing management solutions. This move aims to modernize RAC’s procurement infrastructure and enhance supplier engagement.

As a key player in the aviation industry, managing suppliers both regionally and globally, RAC recognized the need for an advanced procurement system to boost efficiency and streamline operations. SAP, known for its expertise in aviation procurement technology, was chosen to lead the initiative, with the implementation of the SAP Ariba suite being a central component.

SAP Ariba offers a comprehensive spend management system, integrating supplier information, lifecycle, performance, and risk management functions. With this deployment, RAC will benefit from a fully digital and integrated procurement system that enhances collaboration with suppliers. Key features of the SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite include global contract management, multi-currency support, and compliance management.

By seamlessly integrating SAP Ariba with its existing systems, RAC aims to synchronize procurement operations across departments, driving operational efficiency.

Ayman Abdulaziz AboAbah, CEO of RAC, emphasized the importance of the upgrade: “King Khalid International Airport is a gateway to the region. To meet the high standards expected by our partners and suppliers, we needed a secure, scalable procurement solution. With SAP Ariba, we’re streamlining processes and offering time-saving benefits for both employees and suppliers, further enhancing our airport experience for millions of passengers worldwide.”

Fahd Nawwab, Vice President of SAP Saudi Arabia, added, “Riyadh Airports Company is a leader in efficiency and connectivity. SAP Ariba will enable real-time insights and global collaboration, customized to meet RAC’s growing needs.”

This partnership marks a significant step toward elevating procurement efficiency at King Khalid International Airport, ensuring a future-ready, scalable infrastructure for continued growth and enhanced travel experiences.
