In a testament to Dubai’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and innovation, Emirati student Ali Humaid Al Loughani achieved remarkable success at the 6th International Inventions and Trade Expo held in London from September 24-26. He was awarded the prestigious Leadership Medal and two gold medals, showcasing his groundbreaking projects among 285 participants from around the globe, supported by Digital Dubai.

Despite being the youngest participant, Al Loughani’s innovative projects demonstrated the potential of Emirati talent in advancing technology and promoting environmentally friendly solutions. His notable contributions included the Ship Accident Prevention Project, an AI-driven system designed to enhance maritime safety by analyzing real-time data on sea conditions, ship speed, and weather. This project aims to prevent collisions and reduce the environmental impact of maritime accidents, contributing to marine sustainability.

Al Loughani also presented the Hydropower Project, which utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to create a hybrid energy system combining solar energy and hydrogen fuel cells. This project seeks to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, enhance energy sustainability, and align with global sustainable development goals.

In addition to the Leadership Medal, the highest honor at the event, Al Loughani received gold medals for both of his projects and recognition from prestigious organizations, including the Inventors Association of Romania and Norton University of Cambodia. His impressive track record also includes winning second place in the young inventors’ category at the 34th Technology, Innovation, and Invention Exhibition in Malaysia in 2023, where he showcased a robot designed to assist senior citizens using IoT technologies.

To further his innovative journey, Digital Dubai is facilitating a scientific visit for Al Loughani to Dallas, Texas. During this trip, he will engage in research and participate in the prestigious Best Young Inventors Award, which recognizes outstanding young inventors with impactful creations. This experience will provide him with valuable resources and mentorship to help translate his ideas into real-world applications, including participation in the Dr. Robot competition.

Al Loughani’s achievements highlight the UAE’s dedication to fostering young talent and innovation, emphasizing the importance of sustainable solutions for future generations while positioning Emirati youth at the forefront of global technological advancements.
