In the META region, over three-quarters of organizations have embraced ‘digital-first’ strategies, emphasizing the importance of establishing proactive and autonomous IT operations to enhance digitalization and innovation. This was underscored at a recent exclusive event hosted by Riverbed for C-suite executives from its largest enterprise customers in the region.

Eren Eser, Associate Research Director at IDC META, spoke at the event about insights from the recent CIO DX Survey, revealing that 51% of enterprises in META prioritize digitizing operations within the next 12 to 18 months. However, he noted that nearly half (50%) of these organizations struggle to balance digital innovations while managing daily operational issues.

“In today’s digital-first world, customers have zero tolerance for subpar experiences and service disruptions. IT operations must proactively identify and resolve potential user experience issues and disruptions before they affect the business,” Eser emphasized. “This ensures the continuous online presence expected of digital-first companies, guaranteeing operational agility that allows businesses to swiftly adapt to market trends and consumer demands without service interruptions.”

Namık Kemal Uçkan, Head of IT Operations at Halkbank—one of Türkiye’s largest banks with 20 million customers and over 1,000 branches—shared his experience at the event. The bank employs Riverbed’s Unified Observability solutions to tackle digital performance issues proactively. Uçkan stated, “Riverbed’s Network Observability solution helps us pinpoint the root cause of IT issues. With automated alerts, our mean-time-to-resolution is almost zero. We can detect anomalies immediately and resolve them before they impact service. Thanks to Riverbed, our mobile platform’s availability has significantly increased over the past two years, despite more than double the volume of traffic.”

Other executives from major regional enterprises echoed Uçkan’s sentiments. The IDC research highlighted that 60% of organizations recognized as digital leaders currently utilize full-stack observability platforms. The top three driving factors for this group are reducing operational costs, strengthening cybersecurity, and transitioning from reactive to proactive operations.

In his keynote address, Salman Ali, Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering for Emerging EMEA at Riverbed, discussed how the Riverbed Platform supports organizations in achieving these objectives. “Real, full-fidelity data—rather than synthetic or sampled data—is essential for building an observability stack and AIOps strategy. By collecting and analyzing real data from the entire IT landscape and leveraging AI for automated remediations, our platform delivers actionable insights into IT ecosystems. This untethers IT teams from daily operational minutiae, allowing them to focus on innovation and driving their organization’s digital transformation,” he explained.

As organizations in the META region continue to prioritize digital-first strategies, the need for advanced IT operations solutions becomes increasingly critical in ensuring their success and resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
