e& UAE, the telecommunications arm of the global technology group e&, has partnered with EMSTEEL Group, the UAE’s largest steel and building materials manufacturer, to launch a groundbreaking collaboration in the manufacturing sector. This initiative aims to design and deploy an advanced 5G private virtual network.

The new 5G private virtual network developed by e& UAE will significantly reduce operational expenses while enhancing worker health, safety, and the overall environment (HSE). By enabling Industry 4.0 digital use cases, the network is poised to decrease operational costs, increase productivity, and ensure the health and safety of workers.

As part of this agreement, EMSTEEL will be the first to leverage the power of 5G slicing in the UAE. This feature allows EMSTEEL to customize network resources for specific applications, optimizing performance across various manufacturing processes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of e& UAE, stated, “This partnership with EMSTEEL marks a significant milestone in our journey to redefine industrial connectivity. By expanding 5G private virtual networks into the manufacturing sector, we’re empowering businesses to unlock unprecedented levels of efficiency, safety, and sustainability.”

Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Group CEO of EMSTEEL, added, “Partnering with e& UAE is a defining step in EMSTEEL’s journey toward a future of advanced, connected manufacturing. This collaboration enables us to pioneer Industry 4.0 capabilities that enhance operational efficiencies and drive sustainability. By integrating real-time communication and predictive automation, we are setting new benchmarks in productivity and environmental stewardship, aligning with our commitment to innovative and sustainable growth for the UAE’s industrial sector.”

The deployment of a dedicated 5G private virtual network and advanced 5G slicing will allow EMSTEEL to revolutionize its manufacturing operations. Real-time communication and automation across production processes will enhance safety through immediate monitoring of equipment health and worker conditions, facilitating timely interventions.

5G’s ultra-low latency and high bandwidth will enable the seamless integration of AI-driven machinery and predictive maintenance, optimizing efficiency and minimizing downtime. Additionally, the incorporation of IoT sensors and smart analytics will empower EMSTEEL to monitor and reduce energy consumption and emissions, furthering its sustainability objectives. Overall, the implementation of 5G private networks and slicing will enable EMSTEEL to cultivate a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable manufacturing environment.

Building on its successful partnership with ADNOC to establish the energy industry’s largest 5G private network, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMSTEEL underscores e&’s commitment to harnessing 5G technology across various sectors, including manufacturing.
