Global technology brand HONOR has unveiled plans for its upcoming Magic7 Series, which will be powered by Qualcomm’s revolutionary Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform. During the Snapdragon Summit 2024, HONOR emphasized its commitment to creating an AI-first ecosystem, showcasing groundbreaking features that will redefine user experiences. Notably, the Magic7 Series will introduce the industry’s first on-device AI Agent for an open ecosystem and real-time NPU graphics rendering for mobile gaming.

“Openness and collaboration are in our DNA,” stated Dr. Ray Guo, CMO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd. “With our partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, we are defining the AI-first ecosystem and revolutionizing user experiences for the AI era. We are thrilled to introduce the industry’s first AI Agent for an open ecosystem and bring on-device generative AI to gaming powered by NPU computing for the first time. Welcome to the era of Autopilot AI for mobile.”

Chris Patrick, SVP and GM of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with HONOR to shape the future of AI and redefine how people interact with technology. Together, we’re poised to push the boundaries of AI and create truly transformative experiences.”

Autopilot AI for Mobile: The Industry’s First AI Agent for an Open Ecosystem

The HONOR Magic7 Series will debut the first on-device AI Agent for an open ecosystem. This innovative AI Agent can perform tasks based on simple text or voice commands, such as ordering takeout or managing subscriptions. With user consent, it learns individual preferences—for instance, recognizing if a user prefers coconut milk in their coffee—and can act accordingly.

The AI Agent’s capabilities extend to various functions, including travel planning, ticket booking, calendar scheduling, and cross-app file transfers. Set to launch with MagicOS 9.0, this feature promises unparalleled convenience, ushering in the era of Autopilot AI.

AI-Enhanced Gaming: On-Device Generative AI Powered by NPU Computing

The upcoming Magic7 Series smartphone will also bring on-device generative AI to mobile gaming, leveraging NPU computing for the first time. This innovative series will feature real-time AI graphics rendering, which significantly reduces GPU load compared to other smartphones. The result? Lower device temperatures and an enhanced gaming experience with superior image quality.

Seamless AI Integration: MagicRing Empowering the Snapdragon Ecosystem

At the Snapdragon Summit, HONOR showcased its MagicRing technology, designed to enhance the multi-device AI experience across various products, applications, and services. MagicRing facilitates a secure and smooth flow of services and information between devices. For instance, while using Windows on Snapdragon, users can access Cocreator to produce detailed artwork from simple sketches. Thanks to MagicRing, users can effortlessly create AI masterpieces on their HONOR MagicPad 2 using the Magic Pencil, or utilize the HONOR Magic V3’s AI Eraser on the HONOR MagicBook Art 14.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MagicOS 9.0 at its core, the HONOR Magic7 Series is set to usher in a new era of Autopilot AI through its intuitive AI Agent. Mark your calendars for the HONOR Magic7 Series launch event in China on October 30, 2024, for more exciting updates.
