Sheikh Hamdan Approves Startup, Tech Talent, Innovation Boost

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Future Technology and Digital Economy, has approved a new set of projects and initiatives aimed at driving the growth of startups, supporting national talent, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the UAE.

These initiatives are aligned with the UAE’s development objectives, enhancing its role as a global hub for future industries. By building national talent, creating opportunities in the digital sector, and driving economic growth, the initiatives aim to contribute to the UAE’s long-term sustainable development.

The projects also aim to position Dubai as a global leader in innovation and technology, advancing the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the city’s GDP by 2033 and make it one of the top three urban economies in the world.

These initiatives were approved during a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology and Digital Economy. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan reviewed a report showcasing the progress of previous and ongoing projects and discussed future plans.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the UAE’s growing leadership in the global tech landscape, guided by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He emphasized Dubai’s commitment to leading global advancements in the digital economy and entrepreneurship, reinforcing the city’s strategic vision for global competitiveness.

“Our projects are designed not only to keep pace with global developments but to lead them,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “We are building a strong, sustainable digital economy that supports our vision and the aspirations of the Emirati people.”

Among the approved initiatives are the Government Venture Building Program, the National Tech Skills Enhancement Program, the IGNYTE digital platform for startups, and CleanScape, a technology-driven initiative to maintain Dubai’s aesthetic appeal. These initiatives align with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and aim to establish Dubai as a global hub for future technologies.

Sheikh Hamdan also stressed the importance of collaboration among Dubai’s government entities to accelerate the implementation of these projects, ensuring the city remains a global leader in technology and innovation.

Additionally, H.H. was briefed on the success of the Dubai AI Campus, which attracted 130 startups in just five months, and the Expand North Star event, the world’s largest startup gathering, further solidifying Dubai’s leadership in AI and entrepreneurship.

The initiatives reflect Dubai’s strategic focus on supporting national talent, fostering innovation, and driving the growth of the digital economy, ensuring sustainable development for the city and the UAE.
