ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW), the AI platform for business transformation, has unveiled its latest innovation, Workflow Data Fabric, which aims to revolutionize productivity across enterprises. This integrated data layer unifies business and technology data, providing secure, real-time access from any source to power workflows and AI agents.

The company also introduced Zero Copy connectors to enhance integration capabilities, enabling customers to transform data into instant, AI-driven actions. As part of this rollout, ServiceNow has formed a strategic partnership with Cognizant, the first systems integrator to bring Workflow Data Fabric to market.

In many organizations, data is spread across numerous systems, forcing employees to switch between applications to complete tasks. To leverage AI effectively, companies require a scalable platform to manage and utilize data across teams. According to Gartner, by 2027, 30% of enterprises will rely on data ecosystems with elements of data fabric to gain a competitive advantage.

“AI is only as powerful as the platform it’s built into and the data it has access to,” stated Jon Sigler, Senior Vice President of Platform and AI at ServiceNow. “With Workflow Data Fabric, we’re simplifying the connection and analysis of business data from various sources, allowing organizations to maximize efficiency and tackle larger, industry-specific challenges.”

Workflow Data Fabric enables users to interact with structured, unstructured, semi-structured, and streaming data, enhancing scalability and efficiency. By extending the capabilities of Automation Engine and the newly introduced RaptorDB Pro database, the platform allows real-time data access and updates across systems. For instance, retailers can integrate data from multiple systems—like Customer Data Platforms, ERPs, and POS systems—to create a unified view of their operations, facilitating quick responses to customer inquiries, orders, and returns.

This robust system of action boosts operational efficiency and enhances customer experience. Workflow Data Fabric leverages ServiceNow’s Automation Engine, which includes pre-built integrations, real-time data streaming, RPA, and process mining capabilities to unlock value with orchestration and automation at speed. Early use cases have shown significant improvements, including a 53% reduction in transaction times, 27X faster report generation, and three times more transactional throughput.

The recent acquisition of Raytion further strengthens ServiceNow’s capabilities by providing unified, real-time access to critical business data from multiple sources, including unstructured data via connectors to platforms like Atlassian Confluence, Google Drive, and Microsoft SharePoint. With over 500 connectors for structured data, ServiceNow is bridging all types of enterprise data to drive automation and innovation.

Workflow Data Fabric also incorporates augmented workflow automation, enhancing real-time data processing and minimizing delays from legacy systems. For example, it can integrate telecommunications data across retail, network, and customer care systems, offering agents a comprehensive view of customer experiences and enabling rapid detection and resolution of network issues.

Additionally, ServiceNow Knowledge Graph will be integrated into Workflow Data Fabric, connecting and harmonizing enterprise data on a large scale. This transformation of raw data into contextual insights enables AI agents to operate more effectively across the organization, delivering personalized, AI-driven experiences at scale.

Strategic partnerships are fundamental to the AI-driven transformation of enterprise workflows. Through collaborations with leading data platforms, customers can implement ServiceNow workflows directly within their ecosystems, maximizing the potential of their data.

Cognizant’s partnership positions it as the first global systems integrator to bring Workflow Data Fabric to market, assisting joint customers in swiftly implementing these advanced solutions. “At Cognizant, we empower companies to leverage data and AI to stay competitive,” remarked Jason Wojahn, Global Head of Cognizant’s ServiceNow Business Group. “We are excited to be the first partner to offer Workflow Data Fabric, equipping our customers with the tools they need to understand and act on real-time data.”

The introduction of Zero Copy integration capabilities enables businesses to connect securely to data sources without duplicating data. This, along with partnerships with data leaders like Databricks and Snowflake, significantly enhances ServiceNow’s integration capabilities, allowing customers to quickly act on data-powered insights.

ServiceNow’s Now Platform is evolving to turn enterprise data into actionable insights, supporting both AI agents for autonomous issue resolution and traditional workflows in customer operations. With a comprehensive data platform that integrates people, processes, and data, businesses can respond swiftly and efficiently.

As a leader in workflow orchestration and automation, ServiceNow continues to innovate, ensuring that new AI agents deliver high accuracy and rapid response times. With these advancements, ServiceNow is poised to drive significant value for its customers in the fast-evolving landscape of business transformation.
