Oracle has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” to establish a dedicated Oracle Engineering Center in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The MoU was signed during the Gateway Gulf Forum 2024, which brought together senior government officials, business leaders, and executives from around the globe.

This collaboration aims to enhance Bahrain’s ICT talent pool by providing technical training and certification for Bahrainis. The initiative seeks to employ local talent to foster digital innovation and growth, addressing the increasing demand for Oracle Cloud solutions across the Gulf region.

The agreement aligns with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2024, which focus on boosting economic participation through job opportunities for new entrants, expanding career development for the Bahraini workforce, and supporting the private sector to drive impactful and sustainable economic development.

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, stated, “We are committed to equipping national talent with the necessary skills to meet the demands of the growing Information Technology sector in the job market, ensuring their competitiveness both locally and globally.”

Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President of Tech Cloud for Oracle in the Middle East and Africa, added, “Our training programs will support the growth of the Oracle partner ecosystem in Bahrain and provide an industry-leading learning platform for local students.”

Under this agreement, Oracle and Tamkeen will collaborate on launching Oracle certification programs, which will be supported by Tamkeen. These programs aim to develop and qualify Bahraini talent for the Oracle Engineering Hub, ensuring a steady supply of local tech talent for Oracle partners setting up engineering and services hubs in Bahrain. This initiative reinforces Bahrain’s position as a premier destination for technology innovation and investment.
