Air Tanzania and Uganda Airlines are two new airline customers in Africa who have chosen Airbus’ Flight Hour Services (FHS) to support their respective Airbus fleets: A220s for Air Tanzania and A330neos for Uganda Airlines.
These two airlines will benefit from a wide range of material services, including on-site stock, access to Airbus’ spares pools, and worldwide component engineering and maintenance services. Airbus will ensure spare parts availability, resulting in higher fleet availability and lower operating maintenance costs.
They are the first African clients for Airbus’ FHS on two new planes, the A220 and the A330. They also expand Airbus’ FHS reach on the African continent, highlighting the rising confidence in the company’s services for both widebody and single-aisle fleets.
Airbus’ FHS aids fleet introduction into service by providing a simple maintenance setup and access to a well-established industrial setup and increasing aircraft availability through component reliability.
FHS provides a substantial stock availability for A220 clients, both for on-site stock management and parts pooling, as well as a specialized operational supply chain that is already supporting the type’s growing customer base.
Over the last two years, the global Airbus fleet covered by FHS has grown by more than 25% to more than 1,100 aircraft, demonstrating the importance of flexible power-by-hour solutions for airlines to ensure efficient operations and cost containment.
