The Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates recently stated that all government institutions will switch to a four-and-a-half-day workweek, with Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday serving as the new weekend. The longer weekend is part of the UAE government‘s efforts to improve work-life balance and social well-being while also improving performance in order to promote the UAE’s economic competitiveness.
